Kiwifruit DNA

Aim:  To see the DNA of a kiwifruit

Equipment:  kiwifruit, detergent, salt, ethanol, test tube, beaker, clothes, porcelain mortar, ziplock bag

Method:
1. Get a kiwifruit and cut it in half.

2. Squeeze the fruit and put it in the porcelain mortar. Then mushed it.

3. After you mushed it, pick up the cloth and the zipper bag then strain the kiwifruit on the cloth and remove the seeds because you'll only need the juice part then put the juice in the zipper bag.

4. Then, put a pinch of salt in the kiwifruit and mix it. Then put some detergent.

5. After that, put the kiwifruit in the test tube.

6. Put some ethanol, then wait for the white things to come out (the DNA of the kiwifruit).

Results: We saw the DNA of the kiwifruit after doing this experiment. After putting some ethanol on the kiwifruit, you'll see some white things coming out and that is the DNA of the kiwifruit, but it will take some time to see the results.
